The Dorothy and Bill Allen Scholarship Fund
Bill and Dorothy Allen—affectionately known as Coach Allen and the “Bosslady”—founded Blue Mountain Ranch in 1946. To generations of campers, they were more than directors; they were a summertime mom and dad. Coach mentored thousands of young people, while Mrs. Allen was famous for her big hugs and even bigger heart. Together, they poured their love into the camp, the mountains, and, most of all, the campers—sharing a true mountain of smiles with every child who passed through the gates.
The Dorothy and Bill Allen Scholarship Fund was created to honor their legacy and continue their mission of making camp accessible to all children. Your contribution helps bring the joy of Blue Mountain Ranch to less fortunate kids—giving them the same chance to grow, discover, and create lifelong memories.
In memory of Coach and Mrs. Allen, we invite you to help us share a mountain of smiles with future campers. For information on becoming a scholarship recipient, please email Suzie Allen Graf, Camp Owner, at suzie@bluemountainranch.com
The Dr. Paul Homan Scholarship
In the early 1970s, Dr. Paul Homan—then Principal of Skyway Elementary in Colorado Springs—began bringing his students to Blue Mountain Ranch for Outdoor Education. His passion for camping and outdoor learning made him a true leader in the field, giving students the chance to experience nature as it was meant to be.
Throughout his career, which culminated as Superintendent of Cheyenne Mountain Schools, Dr. Homan remained a champion for outdoor education. To honor his legacy and our long partnership, Blue Mountain Ranch awards an annual scholarship to a deserving Skyway Elementary student who would not otherwise have the opportunity to attend summer camp. The recipient is selected by the sixth-grade faculty.
In memory of Dr. Paul Homan, we invite you to help every child experience the magic of camp.
