Campers entering their senior year of high school—or those who have recently graduated—are invited to apply for our Counselor in Training (CIT) program. This special program is designed for campers who demonstrate strong character, enthusiasm, and leadership potential. CITs play an important role at BMR by assisting counselors in cabins and activities, learning how camp operates behind the scenes, and developing the skills needed to become outstanding future staff members.
Our Leadership Director, David Graf, brings extensive experience to the program. With years as a head basketball coach and Student Council Coordinator at Woodland Park High School—as well as serving as a ropes course facilitator at BMR—David guides CITs through a thoughtful blend of “classroom” learning and hands-on leadership experiences.
CITs dive into key elements of our staff manual and orientation materials, participate in team-building challenges, and practice real-world leadership skills. By the end of the program, participants leave with greater confidence, a deeper understanding of leadership, and a clearer vision of the leader they aspire to be.
