Family-owned and operated for 80 years.

“A friend is worth a mountain made of gold.”

Our Mission

At Blue Mountain Ranch, our mission is simple: to bring smiles every day while helping children grow into kind, confident, and responsible people.

Our Philosophy

We’re a non-competitive camp where children can relax, have fun, and just be themselves. We celebrate participation and growth, not awards.

Our History

Blue Mountain Ranch was founded in 1946 by Coach Bill and Dorothy Allen. Coach Allen, a respected Texas high school football coach, was known not only for his winning record but also for his role as a caring mentor. Together, he and Dorothy created a camp where children could escape school pressures and simply be kids. Though they are no longer with us, their spirit and love for Blue Mountain Ranch continue to shape camp life today.

What We Value

  • Emotional, moral, and physical growth

  • Love and respect for the outdoors

  • Cooperation, kindness, and inclusivity

  • Participation over competition

  • Respect for people, property, and the planet

  • Support tailored to each child’s needs

Coach Bill Allen Football Field Re-Dedication

R. L. Paschal High School
Fort Worth, Texas

On October 27, 2013, the Bill Allen Football Field at Paschal High School was rededicated in Coach Allen’s honor and memory. The entire family was proud to be in attendance for this special occasion.

Coach Bill Allen and his wife, Dorothy, founded Blue Mountain Ranch, bringing with them their deep love for young people and their commitment to making a positive impact on every child they met.

It was heartwarming to see so many people gather to honor Coach Allen—decades after his time at Paschal and fifteen years after his passing. He is still remembered for his kind heart, his winning spirit, and, most of all, his passion for kids. A highlight of the day was receiving plaques from two members of the 1961–62 State Runner-Up football team, and introducing Harper, Coach Allen’s great-granddaughter, to our Fort Worth friends.
